I have over ten years of industry experience, and have been a part of design and development projects for many exceptional companies during those years, including Apple, Intel, Alpine USA, Bosch Tools and many others.
I specialize in standards-based XHTML, CSS and JavaScript web development. Each site I develop is built to be search engine friendly, using the latest development principles and techniques. To find out more about what I can do for you, check out my work below, or get ahold of me by either email or on Twitter.
I believe that great design is in the details. I also believe that design must support functionality, and vice versa. One can't, and shouldn't, be used to overcome the weaknesses of the other. Design is more than just choosing colors, typefaces, shapes, and images. Good design works to present information in such a way as to support the information it presents.
When I design a website, I'm constantly considering how the site will be built and how it will function. This way, you can be sure that both design and usability will be considered along every step of the way.
I specialize in front-end web development: HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. In addition to being well versed in standards-based markup practices, I have production experience with several major JavaScript libraries. I also offer content management system integration, for easy site maintenance. I have experience with Django/Python, Rails/Ruby, WordPress, Drupal, and Expression Engine.
In addition to front-end web development, I also offer development in a variety of languages and frameworks. I have an extensive network of freelancers I work with, and I can assemble just the right team for your project.
I've been involved with projects for many great companies, large and small. From managing and coordinating the front end development of massive social media applications, to developing the most basic small business sites, I've got a wealth of experience that I bring to your project.
I'm based in the San Francisco Bay Area (specifically, Santa Rosa/Sonoma County). I've been designing and developing websites since 1998, and I love what I do. Designing and building great websites isn't just a nine-to-five job for me—it's a passion.
When I'm not developing websites, I'm a musician and a photographer. My wife and I have one incredible daughter, and two lovely Australian Shepherds, Josie and Bailey. I like good food, and good wine. My favorite book is On the Road, my favorite film is The Big Lebowski, and I can't begin to pick a favorite record.
